In this recipe of Mutton Palak/ Palak Gosht, Mutton is cooked till tender along with spinach. As spinach is a good source of calcium and iron and so when it is cooked along with mutton, it leaves an immense healthy flavor and you will be satisfied with this perfect meal. So let’s start the recipe of Mutton Palak/ Palak Gosht.

Ingredients:

  • Lamb/Mutton - Half Kg (500 gm) 
  • Spinach - 2 Kg 
  • Onion - 2 Sliced 
  • Tomato - 2 Chopped 
  • Green Chili - 10 to 12 
  • Yogurt - Half Cup 
  • Salt - To Taste 
  • Turmeric (Haldi) powder - Half Tea Spoon 
  • Whole Spice Powder (Garam Masala) - Half Tea Spoon
  • Red Chili Powder - 1 Tea Spoon 
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Table Spoons 
  • Fresh Coriander - 1 Table Spoon Chopped 
  • Oil - As Needed Dried methi leaves (Kasuri Methi) - 2 Table Spoons OR Fresh methi leaves - 1 cup 

Instructions:
  1. Step#01:  Take a large pot, heat the oil, add onions. Fry till onions become light brown.
  2. Step#02:  Add ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, green chili and fry for 1 minute.
  3. Step#03:  Then add washed mutton and fry till all its water dries.
  4. Step#04:  Now add roughly chopped tomatoes & cook more couple of minutes on high flame till the tomatoes get soft.
  5. Step#05:  Add water (2 glass) and cover the lid. Cook on a medium flame for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  6. Step#06:  Uncover the lid & add washed and blanched spinach. Mix and cook on low flame.
  7. Step#07:  When all the spinach water will dry then add whisked yogurt and cook more till oil separates.
  8. Step#08:  Add few green chilies and dry Kasuri methi on top then cook further for 2-3 minutes on a very low flame.
  9. Delicious Mutton Palak/Palak Gosht is Ready! Serve With Chapatis or Boiled rice.
